However, I personally prefer to keep track of the oil change dates and mileage and use those traditional indicators as well, changing the oils when the first of the three (date, mileage, percentage) is due. Arguably, this might mean changing your oils sooner than you actually need to and thus spending extra money which adds up over time. On the other hand, it gives you peace of mind.
