How do you know which category your WikiAnswers question belongs in?

To have the best chance of being answered, a question needs to be asked in the best place.
Start by just asking the question with an "Ask a Question" link. After typing in your answer and making any appropriate improvements you'll be prompted to place the question in the best FAQ. Take some time here. Click on the top-level FAQ topics to see the sub-topics. The more specific topic you choose, the better.

∙ 14y agoThat's hard for everyone who is new to WikiAnswers. I suggest just thinking about what you're asking and then check a box that covers a wide range of topics so you get answers more quickly.
Putting the question in a broad category (such as Entertainment and Arts or Health) will send it along to the proper Category Supervisors, who can then put your question in the most appropriate sub-category.
