Through the use of a scan tool, service manuals, and proper diagnostics.
omg, there are a crapload of sensors on it. what is it doing?
cats maybe bad The problem causing the trouble codes must be addressed before clearing the codes will do any good. The O2 sensors will still be bad no matter how many times you do it. How do you know that all of the o2 sensors are bad? did you test them, did you get multiple codes for sensor failure displaying bank 1 sensor 1, bank 1 sensor 2, bank 2 sensor 1, and bank 2 sensor 2? Get a proper diagnosis, you are probably looking at 1 bad sensor and you need to know which one. On board diagnostics are great but they cannot self repair a vehicle.
there are usually no symptoms for oxygen sensors if there lean or something. But i f other sensors fail like crankshaft sensor of MAF sensor u will notice drivability problems Sometimes you will get a check engine light.
There a a few different ways to tell when a sensor is bad. One way on some sensors, such as temp sensors (or thermistors) is to measure resistance at difference temps to confirm that it is reading correctly, you would have to have the known values for the sensor to compare it to though. Otherwise, you would need diagnostic tools to monitor the sensors while the vehicle is running to know if they are out of range.
The sensors that usually go bad in a Dodge truck are the throttle position sensor, the oxygen sensor, engine light sensor and crank sensor. These malfunctions can be fixed on any Dodge dealership.
A crankshaft sensor can go bad if due to an oil leak. If oil breaches the sensor itself it will burn out.
can you safely drive a 2000 camery with bad sensors
When a O2 sensor goes bad your check engine light will go on and set a code.
how do you k now the cam sensor is bad
LOL, some dont have crank sensors my friend! if you dont have a crank sensor by your oil pan then you have a bad distributor sensor!
Your check engine light will come on, and when you go to the auto parts store and have them run the fault codes and it says O2 sensors, you will know for sure that is the problem.
Either sensor can fail.
