As of now, there is no way to see who gave you the trust points. So, unless the person who gave you the trust point left a message to this effect on your message board, there is no way of knowing.

Why don't people recommend each other for trust points on this website?

There are several reasons why people may not recommend each other:The answer given isn't good. They don't know they can recommend other users. They could feel oddly competitive about WikiAnswers and want to have the most trust points.

How do you give people trust points?

To give other users trust points on WikiAnswers, you just have to search for a question that they have recently answered, and scroll down to underneath the answer. It should say "Last edited by: ExampleUser" and, next to it, "Recommend Contributor". All you have to do is click on that and you have given them a trust point. Please give everyone that has given you a good answer a Trust Point to let them know they were a help. You can also recommend a contributor through their profile.

What are trust points and how do you use them?

You get the pride that someone else thought your answers were great.Trust Points won't earn you prizes or cash, just the notion that a fellow contributor thought you give great answers.

Does having trust points have anything to do with giving trust points?

It sort of depends what you mean. You can get trust points from people that you have given them to, but most are given at random and you never have an idea who gives them to you. The people with many trust points that I have given trust points to never knew, unless I told them and then sometimes they would give me one also. The PC answer is that you get trust points from answering questions, But I suspect the greeters get quite a few from the people that are new when they receive a welcome message from the greeters. I know I gave my greeter a trust point even before I gave myself one. However to answer your question you could give trust points to every contributor you see the link for and never get one back. After you have given a trust point to a contributor the link changes to send message because you can only give each contributor a trust once. That is the only way anyone can tell for sure if you gave someone a trust point and only you can see that your link has changed. There are no rules against letting someone know that you gave them a trust point and if you let them know the reason you may find that many people will also give you a trust point back. Some reasons could be I liked your answer to " ??? " question, or I noticed all your contributions to the site, or I noticed ??? about your bio page. That is probably the only method that giving trust points can also get you trust points. Now if you were asking if you need points to be able to give them you don't need any trust points to be able to give hundreds or even thousands. The only thing necessary to give trust points is that you click on the link to recommend contributor.

Although opinions will vary, this distinction can easily be given to the original creator - Chris Whitten (user name: Chris). Without him, there might not be a WikiAnswers (and that would be a sad reality for us all).

Why doesn't WikiAnswers let you know who awarded you a trust point?

It does not matter who gave you a Trust Point; it has been discussed in the past to allow a user to view which answers they received a Trust Point for, but this is not yet programmed.
