In order to get rid of a profession in World of Warcraft, hit the "k" button to open up your skill menu. You will find your professions in that list, and behind them a small button. Clicking that button will allow you to unlearn that profession.
Note that you lose all recipes, including rare ones, when doing this. If you wish to level that profession again, you have to start all the way from scratch.
If you mean your character's class, this cannot be unlearned.

∙ 13y agoPress C to enter your character screen, go to to the bottom, along to skills (where weapon skills are located) scroll down to professions, press the bar that indicates the profession you want to drop, and press the little red button on the left of it. This costs nothing...however taking up a new profession will cost normal price, and you will have to start the profession you're dropping from 0 again should you ever wish to take it up again.

∙ 13y agoTo leave a profession, you need to bring up the professions/skills page. This is done with the 'K' key by default. Scroll down to the profession you want to drop, click once, and then a small little red button should appear next to the professions description. Click that and confirm you want to leave it.
Remember, if you leave a profession, you have to re-learn all the spells and abilities all over again if you take it back up.
