A method in java can declare only one return value and type at a time. For ex: a single method cannot have a code that returns a string in some cases and an integer in other cases. Java compiler does not let you do that. You can only have one return type for every method in java.

Might be your Firewall.
you need to download java...or your firewall is not allowing jagex to function
yes, well depends if they let you
You should not have to change any internet options to install Java on a Vista machine. If a Java program tries to connect to the internet, then you may have to make a firewall exception for it, but that's probably the only setting you may need to change.
Lets say a firewall was is like a door (a two way door) You can chose who to let in and who to let out (who being a program or what ever). You do this by going to your firewall which is located in the control panel. There you can insert whow you want in or out in preferences under exceptioms. If it is not listed, you have the option to write it in. hope that helps.
You might not have full version
As soon as you either: - Sort out the problem. - Update your Java. - Fix any drive errors. - Make sure your drivers are up-to-date. - Make sure firewall isn't blocking it. - Make sure your internet security isn't set too high.
Check to see if your computer is behind a firewall, windows firewall sometimes blocks the blizzard down-loader.
I have a firewall and can still access limewire, it just wont let me download some songs as apparently they contain viruses. It may differ depending on your firewall operator. dont worry though as there is a lot of songs you can download with the firewall, aswell as a few you cant.
Make sure you have bought the game, you are connected to the internet and your firewall isn't blocking java applications. (Minecraft is wrote mostly in java) If you've done all this and it still isn't working contact mojang to confirm that your account is set up properly
Maybe you need to update your Java, try doing this and then trying again.
Could be a firewall issue, that filters Facebook.
