Rabbits usually use the same corner to go to the bathroom. You should first observe which corner this is. Then put a litter material (newspaper, small animal litter, non-clumping kitty litter, or something similar) in the litterbox. Using fancy litters with chlorophyll crystals etc. may encourage the rabbit to eat the litter, so you should avoid those types of litter.

Each time the rabbit goes in the box, you should give it a small treat (a very small piece of fruit or vegetable). This will teach the rabbit that going to the bathroom in the litter box is a good thing. You should also be sure to keep the litterbox emptied, or the rabbit will not want to go in it anymore. Eventually, the rabbit will learn that the litterbox is its friend.

Some rabbits will learn it quickly; others never will. The key is to stay diligent in cleaning the litterbox and rewarding the rabbit.

How do you littter box train a rabbit?

Easy. I have a rabbit. If you're putting it out on the floor, all you have to do is keep showing it where the litter box is, and keep putting them in it every 5 minutes, ad rub your rabbits paws in it every time you put your rabbit in the litter. HOPE THIS HELPS!

What can you train a miniature baby rabbit?

You can train rabbit to use the litter box. First, make the bedding and litter a different material. Example: I use corncob litter which is gravelly and rough and for bedding I use newspaper which is softer. Next, put the litter box in the corner. (Rabbits are tidy animals and prefer to use the toilet somewhere else). Also, you can train your rabbit to come when you call his name. First, call his name when your near him. Next, when it is all quiet and your rabbit is about 5 feet away, call his name. If he comes, give him a treat and say praising words. Practice this multiple times until he does it all the time!

Are there any people who can come to your house and train your rabbit?

I assume by training you mean litter box training. Rabbits are not like dogs and usually will not want to learn tricks. They are more like cats in that they usually do whatever they want. Hiring someone to train a rabbit to use the litter box is not advised. Rabbits need constant reinforcement and guidance to use the litter box properly and only its owner can provide this.

How do you train a rabbit to go to the toilet?

Rabbits can be trained to use a litter box like cats, and you can use the same kind of litter box for both animals but you can't use the same kind of litter material. Cats use clay litters, and sometimes wheat litters, but these are both dangerous for rabbits. Rabbits must use a safe litter material like Carefresh, Yesterday's News, Boxo, etc. Many rabbits litter train easily: just give them a litter box and they will use it. Putting hay in the litter box encourages them to use it. Putting the litter box in an area where they already go to the toilet will also encourage them to use it. If your rabbit doesn't take to the litter box that easily, read the information on the website linked below for more ideas. If your rabbit is dribbling urine all over the place, that's a sign of illness and the rabbit should see a vet. See the related questions/links below for more information.

What will a mother rabbit do with the runt of the litter?

It depends on how many there are in the litter. Like if there are three she will probably keep it, but if there are six she might abandon it. Remember every mother is different. My Rabbit killed hers, she had 3 in her litter, and she dragged him out side of the nest! Still if your mother rabbit is feeding the rabbit, then it is not a runt!

Litter training rabbits?

If your looking to litter train a rabbit, start by looking at where your rabbit is going to the toilet mainly. Put a litter tray in that place. If your rabbit it going to the toilet in a place you do not want it to, put vinegar there, and this should stop your rabbit messing where you dont want it to. If your rabbit still insists on not using it's litter tray, buy some cat litter and put it into the litter tray, this encourages the rabbit to wee there, as soon as your rabbit is weeing in it's litter tray, take away the cat litter. If your rabbit changes back to a place where you dont want it to wee, put the cat litter back. Keep doing this until your rabbit gets the hang of it!

How do you retrain a rabbit to use litter box?

Rabbits can be taught, re-taught to use a litter box, rabbits normally use one corner of their hutch/cage to poo in, if you get a litter box, and put some saw dust ectra in it, then get plenty of the rabbits poo and put it in the litter tray in the corner that the rabbit poos in, the rabbit should start to use the litter box and after a few weeks of the rabbit using the tray you should be able to move the litter tray to where you want and the rabbit will continue to use it.
