They generally bolt the ground cable directly to the engine block.
It sounds like your engine block grounding wire.
The safety neutral switch on a 1989 Nissan Pickup with an automatic transmission and a D-24 engine is located on the transaxle. The neutral switch will be found where the linkage attaches to the transaxle unit.
Don't know what kind of truck, but usually the thermostat is located where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine. Most are right in that connection. HTH.

Typically, right below and in front of the passanger's feet, it attaches to the engine block and sticks through to make contact with the flywheel/flex plate inside the bell housing.
It will get pushed out onto the ground as the engine warms up.

The idle valve is located under the intake manifold. It has to be removed from the bottom of the vehicle. Have a 2.6 Isuzu pickup and i had to replcace it.......hope this helps
locate top radiator hose where it connects to the engine. remove hose from engine. the pipe the hose came off of houses the thermostat. ther are 2 bolts holding it youll need a ratchet with an extention and 12 millimeter socket
