Logging off prevents others from accessing your account should you have to leave your computer.
It could be a virus or a corrupted file.
The only place you can enter codes is on the Sign In page, so you will have to log off to be able to go there and enter another code.

If you mean logging out, then log in and then click 'log out' on the top right corner. If you mean deleting you account, sign in, then go to 'my account'. Then click 'I must be crazy but for some reason i want to cancel my membership'.
I'm not sure if this works on all Windows versions but on Vista near the 'Log Off' there is a button called 'Switch User'. Click this and it will enable you to switch user accounts without logging off your username.
When you mean 'Shut off' do you mean closing the Internet without logging off? if so then log off properly. if not then i don't think its RuneScape's fault, maybe somethings wrong with your software? if you still can't find the source off this disturbence then contact the people who made your comuter. this happened to me, i sent it off then it came back... MSN is very finicky. It will automatically log off if you drop a packet, which is typical on low-speed dialup connections, all wireless connections, cellular connections, satellite connections, and computers or networks with issues. MSN will also log off if your computer goes into sleep/standby/hibernate. Finally, MSN may often log off inadvertantly due to errors and outages at MSN's server. This cannot be helped by you.
hit the x or just click on the minimize other than that NOTHING.
