Usually the only way to lower a COD in water is to install an expensive biological system which must be maintained and in most places requires a class K operator. The best way to keep the cod low is to deal with it before it enters the tank of water, because treating it is expensive. Usually dry scraping things and throwing away refuse, rather than power washing things will help to lower the COD. Be careful of purchasing anything, for instance, people may try to sell you on a treatment system for metals which is not what you need, but as many people do not know about water treatment they end up purchasing something they do not need. For most purposes, an expensive biological system is required to treat high COD. Though, if you find a way to continuosly aerrate the tank with tiny bubbles, this should lower the COD but probably not by much.
A good hot water tank can heat water to 150 f .This should be limited at the setting knob on the lower element to 120 if you have small children, or 130 if there are adults only.
Sure, because of evaporation.
As high as the highest setting available on the tank.
On a 240 volt hot water tank there is only one of the two elements on at any one time. The incoming cold water is taken to the bottom of the tank through a pipe inside the tank. When the lower thermostat senses the cold water, the lower element turns on. As you draw hot water from the top of the tank the cooler water from the bottom will rise. When the top thermostat senses the cool water it shuts off the bottom element and turns on the top element. When this water is heated to the tank set point it shuts off and the lower element turns on to heat the rest of the water. When the total tank temperature is at the set point all elements turn off. By using this type of procedure there is always hot water at the top of the tank for use.
Suppose we are constructing an overhead tank and by using a high discharge pump water is filled. An input to a water turbine driven generator is given from this overhead tank. Then the out put (Electrical energy produced by generator) is given to drive this pump. What will be the final result. Same will be the result if you try to drive a train with wind energy.
The supply line is blocked, tank is too high, etc
You got thirsty pets? Readjust the tank level.
Amps = Watts/Voltage. 4500/240 = 18 amps. You would use a #12 copper wire which is rated at 20 amps. On a hot water tank there is only one of the elements on at a time. It means that the drainage lines that lead away from the septic tank are clogged.
Cannot be answered without knowing the length/height of the tank.
It is possible to replace by lowering tank and warming pipe in hot water.
