How do you make Minecraft less laggy?

Several things.

1. Close all Web Browsers before starting TF2
2. Make sure your graphics driver is up to date (that's the software that handles your graphics card, you can go to the manufacturer of your graphics card's website for a free download)
3. Close as many programs as you can before starting TF2
4. TF2 will also run slower if you have any viruses/spyware/scumware on your computer.
5. Get your registry as clean as possible with a registry cleaner.
6. You might want to use steam to defragment the game cache if you're using a PC or MAC (right click TF2->properties->local files->defragment game cache.
7. While you're there, you may as well click "verify integrity of game cache".
8. Choose a server with a low ping.

These are easy things you can do at your computer to increase speed. You can also upgrade your computer and internet plan but that costs money.

I find that minecraft is slower on my laptop. The cause? Slow graphics processer. This means that the video settings must be reduced. In the main menu, go to options, then video settings. Then turn "Graphics" to Fast, "particles" to Minimal, and Render distance to tiny. Also, you can turn preformance to Max FPS, but you don't really have to. That should fix it, and if you still can, you can put Particles back to "decreased" if your PC can handle it. (It looks a lot better).

I recommend keeping smooth lighting ON (looks terrible otherwise).

I have the same problem. There is no real to to get rid of lag without new Internet lines, etc.

If it's on the comp then try putting the graphics down, if its on a console try restarting it or deleting some things
