1. Cut a hole in the side large enough to allow a free flow of seeds, but in such a way that it won't all fall out on the ground in the slightest puff of wind, and won't get wet if it rains.
2. Make a few small holes in the bottom of your feeder to allow any rainwater to drain away.
3. Hang it with wire, or even strong string from a tree or your washing line.
4. If your feeder starts to wear out or the food in it goes mouldy, recycle it and make another one!
Remember to keep your feeders well stocked, especially in winter. Birds come to rely on them and will go hungry if you forget.
Well to make a fake bird you will need 1 short stick about 8.5 cm long and some decorated tissue paper. First you cut the tissue paper into a shape of a leaf then make another ( you may use a different colored tissue paper) then you stick both tissue papers on the stick and now all you got to do is to make the birds head, so you could choose another colored tissue paper and make it a shape of a circle then cut out the birds beak you will just need to cut a tiny piece of triangle. Paste the triangle on the circle at the bottom left last but not least stick then birds head on the stick.
All Free Holiday Crafts has a website that shows how to make Spring Felt Birds... the instructions could be adapted to use paper very easily.
