How do you make a cat be nice?

Be nice and quiet around it, not forceful or trying to make it like you. It takes time, but slowly if you show it really gentle kindness then it will be more friendly.

Whereas domestic dogs are born with an instinctive trust of humans which will only be lost if the animal is mistreated, cats are far closer to their wild cousins and are born with an instinctive mistrust of humans and any other animal large enough to potentially harm them.

Persuading a cat to do anything also tends to be on the cat's terms - they cannot be trained so easily as dogs, and being solitary animals will only do what they wish to do rather than what is expected of them if they are to fit into the pack - or substitute pack, in the case of dogs kept as pets.

As such, making a cat friendlier takes a lot of time and patience. Be quiet and don't make sudden movements which will alarm it, don't try to grab or pick it up and let it come to you. In time, the cat will become used to you and see you as non-threatening - once that happens, it's just a matter of time until it becomes friendlier and affectionate. The cat will also look upon you more favourably if it is you that gives it its food.

well first of all you have to feel you are in control of the cat and trust it and when it does something wrong punish it like squirting water at the cat
