What i think helps an neglected rabbit is to make sure it doesn't feel neglected or lonely get it a friend or stay by it's side give it carrots and some toys from a toy shop, be friendly to it the most harm it would do to you is a kick not that bad but anyway hope this helps

Why does your rabbit attack anything that goes into her cage?

Rabbits often become aggressive and territorial when they haven't been socialized (when they're feral), when they've been traumatised (by abuse, neglect, or a frightening incident), or when they aren't being taken proper care of (when they're unfulfilled, depressed, anxious). If your rabbit is acting this way you should spend some time studying rabbit care and behaviour; make any necessary changes to the rabbit's habitat, routine, and/or diet; and be patient, and respectful of the rabbit's feelings and personal space. See the related questions below for info and helpful links. Another reason a rabbit might become aggressive and territorial is becuase it has hit the teenage years -- in which case, the rabbit will out grow it and if not you can train the rabbit to be nice again; neutering/spaying the rabbit will also help.
