The only way this can be done with pure HTML and no DHTML is to make a separate page for each image with a link referencing the next page.
With JavaScript you can automatically populate a list of image file names from an entire DIR to randomly or selectivley show one <div> at a time. There are free scripts available on the web for this kind of functionality. Searcher beware.
