What is vector acceleration?

To make it easy, vector quantities have a direction aswell as a magnitude. While scalar quantities just have a magnitudeAn example of a scalar quantity is "Speed" and the vector quantity would be "Velocity"

Can a scalar quantity be made into a vector quantity by adding a direction to its magnitude why or why not?

Yes this happens in case of area. Usually area is a scalar quantity. But we provide the direction of course perpendicular to its plane area we make it as a vector. Same way though electric current is not a vector it is sensed as vector as we put along with length of conductor. I is scalar but Idl is vector.

How is time a vector quantity?

Given that time only has one dimension, it doesn't make much sense to talk about time as a "vector". Well, technically you can have one-dimensional vectors, but those are simply called "scalars".In the Theory of Relativity, time is simply one dimension more, together with the three dimensions of space. In this case, time by itself is NOT a vector quantity, but a component of a vector quantity.

Is mass a scalar quantity?

Mass is a scalar quantity. Scalar quantities are those characteristics of matter that can be measured with a scale, while vector quantities are those that involve direction as well as quantity.

What is the vector quantity for mass?

It isn't, because a mass can only be positive - there are no negative masses. Also mass is only referring to one thing and this doesn't give as much information as a vector quantity. Mass is scalar.

Is length a scalar quantity or a vector quantity?

length is a scalar quantity buddy . but displacement is vector quantity. Length is a vector quantity If it is associated with direction.. Because having direction make it vector... S0 being vector or scalar depends upon how and where it is used..

Is area scalar or vector quantity?

area is scalar.because we will not say that your area in this direction and my area in this direction . so,area has only magnitude Answer2: the product of two displacements produce a vector area, AxB this is a vector area. BxA is an opposite area.

Is electric potential difference a vector?

We generally think of electric current as a scalar quantity. When we think of 1/4th amp or 20 amps, we think of an amount (a scalar quantity) of current flow. On another plane, the electromagnetic forces at work in current generation are actually force vectors. In the traditional sense, electric current, which is the movement of electrons, is from negative to positive. This is not a vector, though. In the macro or "large" world, think of current as scalar.---------------------------------------------------------------------The beauty is that though current is not a vector definitely its direction of flow is used to make length as vector. I is not vector. dl is not vector but I dl will be considered as vector. So innovative and essential concept.Current density is a vector which appears in Maxwell's equations.

Is A force is a scalar quantity?

Force is a vector quantity. It has both magnitudeand direction.Let's look at a something and think about it. If you apply a force to something in an attempt to move it, the force will have to have direction associated with its magnitude. It must have direction. It doesn't make sense for force to not have direction. Gravity is a force of attraction between masses. A ball falls because the earth attracts it, and it falls down. That's the direction vector associated with gravity.

How can you tell which is a scalar and which is a vector quantity?

Ask yourself "Does the direction make any difference ?" Cost of a house, volume of a sound, temperature of a hamburger: 'No' ===> scalar quantities Velocity on my trip home, force on a ball at the top of a hill: 'Yes' ===> vector quantities
