You can try gradually and gently heating whatever it is with a propane torch. Try testing a small scrap piece of brass to start. Also, this is very hard to get but it works wonderfully and it is NOT a topical treatment. Meaning that it wont wash off. It is a chemical reaction between the brass and the solution:
