Simple solution:
In painting, you would select a brown and gray close to the shades you are looking for. Start with the lighter shade, and add a small amount of the darker color. Mix the two colors, and then add some more of the darker shade. Continue to do this until you get the color you are looking for.
More advanced solution:
You can mix your own gray using black and white. To get your brown mix orange and green. To have even more control over the shade of brown you achieve, mix red, yellow, and green in small amounts, adjusting for the shade you want as you go. White can also be added to lighten things up a bit if needed. Once you achieve the desired brown and gray, you then mix them using the step above in simple solution.
To make brown into grey, I would mixed in a melody of different colors until its just a blob of black, or grey, and then, of course, just add black or white to lighten or darken it.
mix brown and blue paint
Use black paint on its own, otherwise you will need to keep adding black until the grey becomes black enough. Adding a very dark blue to grey will make a black, but it won't be a proper black, more like a bluey black.
Well, to be blunt: brown would. Working with a light grey won't be much different than working with a white paint, except the brown will come out less vibrant. There's a lot of ways to make brown, a simple way would be to add a reddish orange to a bit of dark blue.
