1) peel potatoes

2) cook them in salted water (enough to cover potatoes + abit more)for about 20 mins. counting from when water boils

3) test the potatoes to see if they are soft, test with a knife, if they are ready the knife will go through the potatoes ok.

4) when potatoes are done, put potatoes in a bowl, save water

5) then with a fork or potato masher, MASH potatoes with some of the boiled potato water, some warm milk and some butter or margarine. Not too much to start with. If you think the mashed potatoes are too dry carefully add more potato water or milk. The mixture shouldn't be too sloppy. The potatoes should be light and fluffy.

6) season to taste.

Mashed potatoes go with many dishes, fish or meat. Enjoy!

PEEL AND QUARTER five pounds of potatos (I use reds). USE FIVE QUART POT OF WATER enough to cover potatos with about one inch of water. BOIL FOR 10-15 MINUTES or until potatos are soft throughout. DRAIN water out of pot. USE THIS POT TO FINISH RECIPE. add: 1 STICK OF BUTTER EQUAL AMOUNT OF I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER EQUAL AMOUNT OF MILK MIX all ingredients well by hand first, then use electric mixer to finish to desired consistancy. IF YOU STARTED TO MIX WITH ELECTRIC MIXER, clean walls, counters and all that on them is. For now, because of your desire to cut the all important step of mixing by hand first, your kitchen is covered with this great tasting mixture. Call the dog in about now to help with clean-up. SALT and PEPPER to taste. IGNORE all following adds by this website aimed at weightloss. After all, look at this recipe!!!

its realy easy but it depends on how you are making it. i buy mine at the store in a box. thts the easy way but if u trying to make it on your own then idk. First buy a box of potato flakes at the store and make sure thry garlic mash tators and then make sure u have butter, milk and of course water. You also need to have a stove. Ok so, boil 1 1/2 cups water, and 2 tbsp of butter or margirine. after its done boiling add 1/2 cup of milk. stir in garlic mash potato flakes while adding milk. Your done and enjoy. Also you can just look at the directions on the back of the box. it might say something different but it doesnt matter any ways u cook it cuz it wil turn out fine.

To make mashed potatoes at home is simple. You will need a large pot, potato peeler, potato masher, salt, butter, milk and as many potatoes as you see fit. First you must wash the potatoes of dirt and rub any "eyes" off them. Then peel and cut your potatoes into chunks. Put your chopped and peeled potatoes into your pot and cover with water. Lightly salt the water, put a lid on the pot and set your burner to high. After water has come to a boil and your potatoes are soft; drain the water from the pot. Then add about 1/2 a teaspoon butter per potato. Mash them until there are no large chunks adding a little milk as you mash to achieve a creamy texture. There you have it home made mashed potatoes!

There are allergies to almost anything. For mashed potatoes, though, you might consider what has gone into the mashed potatoes. If milk or milk products were ingredients and someone who has milk allergies eats the mashed potatoes, then they will appear to be allergic to mashed potatoes. If sulfite-treated potatoes are used and the consumer is allergic to sulfites, they will likely have a reaction to the mashed potatoes.
