In order to make this kind of an indicator, you need: RED CABBAGE, A MIXER, WATER, STRAINER, ACID, BASE, BEAKER (or a glass).
Now, take a few of the red cabbage leaves and put them in the mixer, after that, put water into the mixer. Now: MIX! When you mix, strain off the cabbage-leaf parts into a beaker and you're ready to go. If you pour hydrochloric acid, the juice turns red, if you put ammonia, it turns green, if you put a solution of sodium hydroxide, it turns yellow. Of course, these are all lab-grade chemicals. You can also use (Lemon) Citric Acid, Acetic Acid(Vinegar), Sodium Bicarbonate(Baking Soda)...Hope I helped..! :)
The red-cabbage indicator smells like cabbage, nothing else...
The universal indicator is better than the red cabbage indicator because the universal indicator has a wider range of pH that it can explain why a substance is acidic or basic. The red cabbage indicator only tests the substance if it is an acid or a base. Also, the universal indicators are made carefully and it is manufactured in a precise manner so the results are very reliable. Red cabbage indicators will vary in concentration which could cause errors to occur in determining the pH of a substance.
Red Cabbage extract
the cup of lemonade will turn a bright red color because it is an acid
Red Cabbage Juice can be used as an easy natural indicator. Bromothymol Blue is a common chemical pH indicator
Red Cabbage and Beetroot can be used but what else?
The red-cabbage indicator smells like cabbage, nothing else...
No, it is natural, coming from "red cabbage".
Nothing, but red cabbage is a simple pH indicator at home (red in acidic solutions).
Red Cabbage
red cabbage is a good indicator
red cabbage is the natural pigment that can act as an indicator.
A buffer absorbs or releases excess hydrogen ions, making the solution hold at a steady pH. Since red cabbage indicator makes a good pH indicator, it has a neutral pH. any amount of acids or bases added would change the pH of the red cabbage juices. If it made a good buffer, it would not make a good pH indicator.
Filtration
anthocyanin
You would use a grinder and a grind to mash up the cabbage therefore creating a purple/dark red liquid
It is important to release a liquid.
