How do you make sure you will get in heaven?

You can't ensure that you are going to go to heaven. For all you know whatever someone says like 'Do this and you will go to heaven' could be the complete opposite for all you know. For all you know you could be going the other way and you can't stop it no matter what you do. I personally would like to believe that there is a happy place at the end (or is it the end?) as its a nice thing to believe in. But then there are also these other questions like what would you look like? Say you were 78 and you died would you look the same as you do the now or when you were 10 or 78. How would your mother and father look? I am not hoping that there is or isn't a heaven and hell but I do know that on this earth I'm going to be as best a person as I can be. I'll help that old woman across the street. I'll help that man put his shopping onto the conveyor belt.I hope that you can find solitude within yourself. The Bible says you can know you are going to heaven. Romans 10:9-10, and the small book of I John are good places to start. Remember John 3:16: For God so loved the world that whoever believes on Him should not perish but have eternal life. That is a promise we can grab onto. Believing in this case means to make it a lifestyle, not just mental assent that changes from day to day. Our life should show the change if God is in it. That is why there are so many hypocrites, because people just pay God lip service but don't live what they believe. This is true not just of Christianity but many areas of life. Study the New Testament and there are many references to help you know you will go to heaven. Search it out for yourself, if you are really interested. God has the answer for every need of your life, but we don't always like the answers he gives, because we are stuck in the rut of sin and don't want to change. According to the Bible you have to confess your sins to God, repent of your sins, which is basically taking a 180 degree turn with your life and committing to following God's word and doing your best to obey Him and not sin, and accept what Jesus did on the cross, which is dying for the sins of the world and being risen again in 3 days, and in doing so conquering death.

It's really just believing in your heart that what Jesus did for the world happened and is true and is enough to save you, and praying to give your life to Him and live for Him, because without Him you would go to Hell since an imperfect being cannot live with a perfect God in heaven. It's a laying down of your life to let Him be in control of it. He died for you, He gave 100% of His life, so that's what He asks for in return. You've got to live for Him. He's your savior, but He's also your Lord.

And when you do that, when you've been washed clean of your sin by praying to give and live your life for Jesus, you're given the promise of paradise, even though we all deserve hell. It's a very intense and beautiful thing; God's grace is mind blowing.

That would depend on what religion you follow. Many religions do not have a heaven. Most religions that do have heavens have requirements for participation in their faith to achieve it, even then you have to do everything just right. With several thousands of gods and hundreds of religions to choose from each with multitudes of do's and don'ts you'll have to be pretty lucky.

Some folks either don't believe or don't care about religions. Many of those would refuse to go even if offered the choice (See Mark Twain's "Letters From Earth" for the reasons)

Some Heaven's you might not want to go to - the ancient Greek's used to envision heaven as a gloomy pace, the Norse saw it as a place where you fought all day and drank all night.

According to Christian teachings, there are several different things one should do. Following the "Ten Commandments" and doing good deeds are typically what come to mind first. Other things that can be done, according to some Christian teachings, are prayer, repenting for one's sins, confession, communion, and accepting Jesus into your heart and as your lord and savior. However, going to heaven is something that is believed to happen after one passes on. No one has ever come back to life and told us what "heaven" is like. They are usually revived after only minutes to tell us that "someone" or "something" sent them back. So, truth be told, there is absolutely no way to tell who will go to "heaven" and who will not. And there is no way to tell whether such a place exists. So, do not take these words as something to let you down. Go with what you feel is the right path in life. That is why we call it "Faith".

I'm saved, forgiven, set free, born again, and on my way to Heaven because I have Jesu s in my heart." If you said that prayer and believed it then all of your sins are forgiven. Always run to God and not from God because He loves you and has a great plan for your life.

Depends what religion you follow. Most have a set of rules to follow, a requirement for good works and a set of beliefs for you to subscribe to. If all religions can get you to a Heaven then you'd have to follow their instructions. If there is only one religion that "works" tou will have to examine them all and decide wich you're going to believe. Even then you'll have to decide the requirements for admission, do them all exactly as intended and hope you've got it right.

If you are born again in Christ and confess all your sins and have a fellowship close to God than you will inherit the Kingdom of God. But if you have only 1 sin in your heart than your taking the other path of destruction.
