A "spaghetti squash" has a stringy, noodle like texture that many people use instead of regular pasta.
As far as toppings go, any sauce without meat (there are many!) will do.
Most pasta is vegetarian; you may want to check the ingredients as some have eggs in them.
Prep your vegetables. You'll want to cut whatever veggies you are using into about 1 inch pieces. Not too small that they will get mushy, but small enough to eat without having to use a knife.
2Boil water in a large pot for the pasta. Also boil water in another saucepan for steaming the vegetables.
3Once the pasta water is boiling, add some salt. Then add your pasta. Consult the pasta box for the amount of time you should boil the pasta. I usually boil it for a minute or two less to ensure it stays al dente.
4Since the pasta has started, you can cook the vegetables. Put them in a steamer. If you don't have one you can put them directly in the saucepan (in an inch or so of water). Cook them for 5 minutes or less depending on how crunchy you like them. If you are including tomatoes, I would throw them in at the end for a few seconds.
5Once the pasta and vegetables are done, drain them both and combine in a serving bowl.
6Spoon out portions of your dish into pasta bowls. Grate fresh parmesan cheese on top of each dish. Put some extra grated cheese on the table.
Tomatoes, and whatever else you like- olives, mushrooms, basil, onions, garlic, and even things like parsley and bell peppers.

The basic ingredients are the same. In fact, any tomato sauce recipe can be used as a spaghetti or pasta sauce or as a pizza sauce. However, pizza sauce should have a thicker consistency than most spaghetti sauces. Watery sauces will soak the crust and leave you with a soggy pizza. If leftover or store bought spaghetti sauce is going to be used on pizza, as is with no 'doctoring', reduce the sauce by simmering in a sauce pan until it has the consistency of a thick pancake batter.
oregano is great in spaghetti sauce, it really does make a difference and gives more flavor. spaghetti would not be spaghetti without it. you can also put it on sub sandwiches, lightly.
Can be used in salads or soups, although usually eaten with meat or meat sauce and tomato sauce.
