reverse then hit the brakes hard do this a few time and the self adjusters should adjust for you
There is an electronic relay switch which turns on the rear brake lights-It's located behind the brake pedal- It clicks when you push the pedal down, making contact.
the switch on brake pedal is faulty and needs replacing
probably the clutch cylinder is gone :(
You have to keep it down with your foot!
If none of the brake lights are working i would suspect the brake switch at the brake pedal.
Check the bulbs. If these are OK it could be the switch on the brake pedal arm.

Hold the break pedal down and the milometer trip button turn on the ignition whilst holding these in the service light will flash then resets
It is above the brake pedal not under it. Follow the brake pedal bracket all the way up and you will see the brake pedal switch.
Remove the clevis pin from the pedal the remove the master cyl from the bulkhead A quick way to test the cylinder is clamp the flexible hose that leads to the slave cylinder when the hose is clamped, the clutch pedal should be solid.
