You have your little toolbar. Go to that. You see your zoom bar. Go about 4 things over to see a little icon with what looks like columns on it. Click it and it will ask if you want 1, 2, 3, or 4 columns. Simple as that.
WordPad is a very basic word processing application so it does not have the full facilities of other word processors. It does not have the facility to automatically create columns of text, so you can only do it manually which is not efficient. You are better to use a word processor that has a columns facility.
