The lower layers of layered cakes can be trimmed with a bread knife to level them, or if the filling is stiff it can be used like a glue. If firm fruit like halved strawberries are placed in the filling they can be used to prop up layers. Alternatively toothpicks can be poked through the layers to prevent sliding.

∙ 12y agoAfter you bake it, you cut off the top untill it's straight, then you can ice your cake and eat the scraps that were cut off :) dont eat the scraps right away because eating hot cake makes you sick
