When you install warcraft, warcraftIII World Editor comes with The Instilation In your desktop just click on to the start menu and in search type; warcraft and everything you have that has the name warcraft and if you look up the top you should see something that says warcraftIII World Editor.
Unles ofcorce your talking about actualy makeing it, in that case just start it up, then click on to file, and just under it click on to New Map.. then chose how big you want your map to be. because your a beginner i sugest you watch a few yourtube vidieos about most of the basic's. but here is one what i like to do. if you go in to Advanced(up top) click on to constants, tick the box on custom constants find Hero XP Gained - Hero Constant Factor: and change it to anything, lower numbers meen any Hero will Level Very Fast and Higher Numbers make you level Slower, you can also make a hero level up higher then 10 by finding Hero Maximum Level, once you find it, it should say 10 next to it, change it to what ever you want, just expirment things in world editor, and in time you will know everything about it :D

Warcraft 3 World Editor, it should be located at your local Warcraft III file.
You'll need to have Warcraft III: Frozen Throne in order to play DotA. DotA is just a user-made map for Frozen Throne, and you'll have to download the map from getdota.com to play it. Just transfer the map file over to you Frozen Throne map folder and play.
It should be in your Warcraft III folder. If it's not then your doomed.

Warcraft 3 maps are by default melee maps unless you add more Triggers or player specific units, custom units...etc on the map...on the bottom right corner of the World Editor it tells you if it's either a melee map or a custom map (scenario) and the reasons why. Same goes for Frozen Throne.
