Give him/her a slight squeeze to make them trot, then give a little kick and a tap of the whip if nescesary. Always ask your horse to canter whilst turning a corner. This enables you to slide your outside leg towards the shoulder and ask for a gentle canter. When you have succsesfully completed this monuver, you are then ready to cluck on, squeeze and ask your horse for a faster canter. Do this in a suttle manor as any quick movements may spook the horse:causing them to buck/rear. Cantering is so much fun but do make sure you've done your research and know what you're doing,a fall whilst cantering really hurts and can leave you very shaken. Happy Cantering!!!
If your pony is in a canter, sit back in the saddle and try to get your butt to stay in the saddle. Use vocal commands first, say whoa. If the pony is still unresponsive, pull back on the reins.
Yes you can make your horse canter whilst staying seated
A pirouette at a canter is when you make a full circle (left or right) on your horse's back feet. Its the same at the walk, except the pirouette at the canter is at a canter, if a slow one (your horse should be able to canter on the spot).

How To Jump A Pony # Ask your pony for a lively trot or canter (if you're just starting to learn to jump I recommend a trot). # Aim your pony towards the jump. (Make sure that your going on a straight line towards it.) # (For beginners) On the last stride lean forward, look straight through the pony's ears and kick. (For more advanced riders) Lean forward, look straight through the pony's ears and kick a second before take off.) # Hold onto some mane as the pony takes off. # Once the pony has landed sit back.
