How do you make yourself admin on a Macbook Air?

Create a new account in the Accounts section of System Preferences. This account can be set to Administrator from the New Account menu. You will need to be an Administrator to set up a new account.

Accounts are set up in the Accounts section of System Preferences. Click the + button in the lower left section to add a new account and select Administrator from the options menu when setting the details of the new account.

Administration of the Mac is controlled in the System Preference pane.

Click 'Users and Groups'

Click the lock to make changes. You need an administrator's ID and password.

Click the user name on the left.

Click "Allow user to administer this computer' on the right.

Click the lock
