To get the correct length of the stirrups, you need to have the tip of your fingers touching the buckle at the top of the stirrup strap. Strech your arm out and the bottom of the stirrup metal (where you put your foot) sould be under your arm (in your arm pit). The stirrup strap should not be floppy but not pulled tight when measuring.
