You measure current by inserting an amp meter in series with the circuit or using a clamp-on meter to measure current by induction. You measure voltage with a volt meter across the supply. You measure resistance in ohms across the resistance. Luckily all these functions are in the same meter in most cases.

You connect a known voltage across the two points in the circuit, and measure the

current that flows between the points. The ratio (voltage) / (current) is the resistance

between those points.

Ac voltage applied across a load resistance produce alternating current?

The reason an AC voltage applied across a load resistance produces alternating current is because when you have AC voltage you have to have AC current. If DC voltage is applied, DC current is produced.

What instrument used to measure alternating current?

A multimeter has the ability to measure both AC and DC current along with voltage and resistance.

How a Cathode Ray Oscilloscope is used to measure Alternating current?

An oscilloscope is, essentially, a voltmeter -it measures current by measuring the voltage drop caused by that current across a standard resistance.

What factors determine the voltage induced in a wire?

V = I * R or I = ( V / R ) I = current (amps) V = Voltage R = Resistance The current in a circuit depends on the applied voltage and the resistance of the circuit.

How a multimeter be connected in order to measure resistance?

A: A multimeter is an instrument design to measure ohms volts and amps. So to measure amps a shunt is provided to allow a sample of the current to be measured as a function of voltage.

How do you measure the unknown resistance?

Measure the voltage V and current I and compute the unknown Resistance R=V/I.

How do you measure the resistance in a parallel circuit?

You have to measure the voltage, and the current. The resistance is then calculated by using Ohm's Law.

Besides voltage and resistance what else can your multimeter measure?

current

What does the size of a current depend upon?

One way to determine current is to measure it, with an ammeter. Another way is to calculate it using Ohm's law: current = voltage / resistance.

What is the relationship among voltage current and resistance in a circuit?

Voltage = (current) x (resistance) Current = (voltage)/(resistance) Resistance = (voltage)/(current)

What is a relationship among voltage current and resistance in a circuit?

Voltage = (current) x (resistance) Current = (voltage)/(resistance) Resistance = (voltage)/(current)

What is the ohm unit used to measure?

Ohms measure electrical resistance. The resistance in ohms is the voltage divided by the current.
