If the fish is a pet and not food for a pet then its best not to pick them up with anything but a net. Fish have a slime coat that protects their scales. Touching them with your hands can remove this coat and cant harm your fish. It will most likely give your fish a harsh burning sensation
Erm what do you mean, in a tank?
Get a container, put it in so its full of water but you have hold of it, and ideally, get a net and push it into the container with that, but being carefull not to hurt it. If you dont have a net, trap the fish into a corner with the container (not hurting it) so it will swim in
I've transported my betta fish to and from work ( an hour drive) and have found the best way to do it is to fill up a tall vase half way, place it in a cardboard box, pad the inside of the box with towels and place it down on the floor on passengers side of the car. This keeps it from splashing water around, keeping it from tipping over and keeping it out of the direct sunlight.
If you are doing a long move I'd suggest taking half to two thirds of the water out of your aquarium, take out all the decorations that can shift around or fall on your goldfish, and plug in an air stone bubbler through the cars lighter or plug in source (plugin adapters are available). The air stone should add a lot of tiny bubbles which should help keep the tank oxygenated Try to leave a few aquatic plants in the tank to help keep ammonia levels down. Place it securely wedged in on the floor or on a seat so it can't tip over if you have to brake suddenly (avoid braking suddenly or taking turns fast).
At the end of every day you are on the road, change 75% of that water in the tank, refilling it with fresh water and use a dechlorinator to remove chlorine and chloramine. Don't leave the tank in the sun or in a hot car for very long and if it gets cold at night, consider taking it inside your motel. At minimum, wrap the tank with towels to keep the water from getting too cold quickly and keep the air bubbler running 24/7.
Don't bother feeding them if it's only a few days, they will likely be a little stressed and not want to eat anyways. It also keeps the waste levels down.
okay, there have been multiple try's at catching fish without nets or rods most of them fail, one way is a trap: By breaking limbs and sticking them in the mud you can create a circle with just one small opening, put some kind of bait maybe like something like raw meat, liver, crayfish, anything like that. one other way to catch fish is to hand catch them witch is more difficult you have to take in account for the way water bends about two inches to the bottom right is where you should go.
The only other way i know is a grass weaved snare where you have to make a basket weave mad of water snap or grass making a # pattern, make it about 10 sq. foot and tie something like dental floss around it to pull it back up. fish will swim in to explore and will get get stuck in the weave.
Yes you can if you are trying to transfer them from one location to another quickly. This allows you to avoid using a net that could tear their fins.
Well goldfish move their fins of course.
Take your goldfish. They will travel.
Sometimes they do and at others they are pretty well comatose.
Because that's how it breaths. Are you really that dumb?
Goldfish are naturally attracted to rotting fins, so if your goldfish has rotting fins get a cure for it or change your water. Or, in the other case, if that goldfish is bullying its tankmate, move the bully or victim to another tank or return the bully to the pet store.
No,they are to small and not strong enough.
They flick around the tank fast and move fast.
Goldfish have been known to eat their own young so moving the mother goldfish out of the tank and into another is probably a good idea. You do not need to do this if the eggs have not been fertilized by a male goldfish. In that case, it is perfectly fine to leave the eggs with the mother as she will greatly enjoy devouring them.
Maybe, if you don't move the eggs.
Yes the mother goldfish will eat the fry-and so will the father, that's why it is a good idea to move the parents into a sepperate tank after they have bred if you want the babies to live.
Some common breeds of goldfish are: the Black Moor goldfish, the Ryunkin goldfish, the comet goldfish, the common goldfish, the Calico Fantail goldfish, the telescope eye goldfish, the bubble eye goldfish, the pearl scale goldfish and the Oranda goldfish.
Goldfish do not 'give birth' they spawn as a group. There is no need to change anything after they have spawned other than to either move the eggs or the adult fish if you wish to raise of young.
