To remove the cigar lighter on a 1986 Chevy Celebrity:
1. Remove the ashtray
2. Remove the slide that the ashtray goes into. It is necessary to remove the noise panel under the dash also.
3. Reach up behind the dash and unplug the wire harness from the cigar lighter socket, then unscrew the outer shell from the socket.
4. The socket will now pull out the front of the dash.
Reverse the removal process to reinstall the cigar lighter.
On the belt tensioner you will see a spot to insert a half inch drive breaker bar or ratchet to move tensioner off belt.

You may have to loosen the single bolt at the inner fender well to move the strut. 2. Wearing gloves to protect your skin from battery acid remove the ground cable. 3. Remove the positive cable. 4. Loosen and remove the holding clamp at the bottom of the battery. 5. Lift the battery out of the battery tray. Reverse the steps to put the battery back in.
