How do you now if your emo?

I myself is a emo, I do not remember how I became a emo or when I came one. I think it slowly started to change in my taste in fashion (black, grey, red ect. and hating pink unless it is good shade). Then My music taste changed as well (greenday, My chemical romance, pretty reckless, Black veil brides ect). Emo isn't just about being depressed and self harm, not all emos do self harm and that's what it is not about. Emo is just way of being different. I hope this answers your question
