If you open the lid you will see the keyboard area at the bottom, and a black plastic cover at the very top (the power switch is located on this panel). The black cover is afixed to the screen hinge by three screws. These screws are located at the back of the machine. 1) Remove the three screws that secure the black plastic panel to the screen hinges. 2) Gently prise off the black panel (I found the best way to do this was to fully open the screen 180 degrees. 3) With the cover off, you will see two screws that secure the keypad to the computer. Remove these screws and gently ease the key pad away from it's housing (key pad is self contained so no worries about keys falling off everywhere!). 4) You should now be able to locate the single screw that secures the DVD to the computer. Undo this screw and slide the drive out of the machine. 5) The drive you have extracted will have a black plastic mount afixed to it by four screws. You will have to remove this mount and transfer it to your new drive. Good luck!
