Theres a switch/lever you push down on. Its located on the floor near the driver side door.
Open the door , disasemble it, find the broken part, buy it, replace it, asemble it back, and done your door is working properly again
Make sure the driver's side door is unlocked otherwise fuel door will be locked automatically. If unlocked then there is a problem with the fuel door switch.
clicking the door unlock switch on the drivers door or key fob will unlock a fuel door actuator lock that locks the fuel door. Then all you should have to do is gently push the front of the fuel door toward the vehicle and the door will swing open.
There's a small lever on the front-left side of the driver seat...pull it up a time or two and the gas cap door should open up.
Unlock the car, then simply press down on the outer right edge of fuel door. It will pop up.
fuel door on my 86Z won't release is there a alternate method to get it to open, or better yet a fix I can make?
You might have to pry it, if push comes to shove.
Open the door and it will turn off
use a hammer
Push on the fuel door itself to open. There is NO remote fuel door release. Push on the fuel door itself to open. There is NO remote fuel door release.
The lever is on the left side of the drivers seat. Push down at the front of the lever; if you pull up, it will open the trunk
