In a mechanical watch, you can determine the drifting rate on each position, and then use that information to "regulate" your watch's accuracy. If you are willing to open up the caseback, usually there will be a knob where the balance wheel is that has a plus/minus sign. There are tutorials for different watches on regulation with that method.

It depends on what kind of watch you have, wether it was on at the time, what you got it wet with and how extensive the flooding is. If it is a mechanical watch (only has gears and no electronics) then you should be able to just open it and let it dry but if it is salt or sugar water you will need to put it in a shallow dish of warm fresh water for about 30min. If it is electro-mechanical (they usually have a battery) do the same as for the mechanical watch but make sure to get all water out of the electrical components before trying to use it again, if it was off or out of power during the incident their is a much greater chance of it working. Finally if you have an Fully electrical (digital) watch then unless the liquid only got inside the casing and not into the individual components you have almost no chance of fixing it but try the aforementioned methods just incase. Hope this helps.
both electric and mechanical.
