step one- hold the jar in the hand you dont use to write

step two- take the other hand and put it on the lid

step three- start twisting/turning the lid

step four-put a little pressure on the lid if need to

that is how you open a jar

There are several techniques, depending on the difficulty (tightness of the seal).

1) Use a non-slip gripping material, preferably rubber, or a rubber band

2) If pressure doesn't turn the lid, knock lightly on a soft surface to free threads.

3) Cover the jar bottom with a heavy pad and slap sharply with the heel of your hand. If you hear a thump from inside, you have probably eliminated a vacuum problem.

The moisture which is within the jar is heated to cause the seal ultimately soaks into the vegetable. In turn it causes a vacuum of nothingness which pulls the metallic seal closer to the bottom of the jar . This is the pressure needed to seal the lid to the glass and hence the connection between the lid and the jar is fortified by the vacuum caused by the lack of moisture in the void of the jar.

Heat the lid for 30 secs in hot/warm tap water. Then use an utensil as a lever to lift the lid a bit. After that, it should easier to open with either your bare hands or with a towel.

One way to do it that works is to slam your palm flat against the bottom.

Use a jar opener. Sometimes running hot water over the sides of the top helps and using a rubberized material to get a good grip.
