There is a release handle that is located high up on the the outside edge of the driver's footwell. Once it's popped, the bonnet just lifts without without any safety catches from the windscreen side.
A bonnet is the stem of a valve. Fluids from the valve are prevented from escaping towards the valve handle by a bonnet pcaking and a nut.
On a convertible it's under the bonnet. On a coupe it's behind the driver's seat. This, of course, only counts if someone hasn't removed it.
