Distributing a Windows 98 CD is definitely illegal. However, judging by the numerous copies of MS_DOS out in the open, it appears that distrbuting MS-DOS boot disks is legal, as long as the downloader has a legal copy of Windows.
It is very simple to remove Windows. First, make sure you have all your stuff backed up. Then open Finder and go to the folder Applications -> Utilities, and in there is an application called Boot Camp Assistant. Open Boot Camp Assistant, and click on Continue. Select Create or remove a Windows partition and then click Continue. Click the Restore button to remove the Windows partition and restore the disk to a single-partition OS X volume. Enter your password and click OK. It will repartition the drive, and Windows is gone!
Simply open Commmand Prompt. Navigate to the folder that contains all the parts, and enter this command: copy /b example1.iso + example2.iso + example3.iso + example4.iso finishedexample.iso . This works only with windows cmd of course.
Purchase a copy of Parellels Desktop or obtain it somehow. Obtain a copy of windows 8 Install Windows 8 into Parallels desktop, whenever you boot on the computer open up the program, just click onto Windows 8!

Yes you can, when the computer is booting up open the boot menu and choose the external as your boot device, i have a external hard drive with Ubuntu on it and do exactly that, I'm sure it can work with windows.

The simplest way to remove it is by removing the boot option and then deleting the files. first, turn on your PC. IF IT BOOTS INTO THE WINDOWS 8 MULTIBOOT MANAGER, MAKE SURE WINDOWS 7 IS SET TO THE DEAFULT! then boot into windows 7. (or vista or XP) then start a program called msconfig either by typing it into the start menu and pressing enter or by typing it into a run command. When it's open click on the boot tab then click on windows developer preview. Then click the delete button below it. Then navigate to the folder or drive with windows 8 in it and delete it, its that simple!
Download your open source O/S (for example Linux ubuntu) and just install. Of course, you might be wanting a dual boot. In Ubuntu, you have a option of a dual boot aside windows. The instructions in the steps are useful and should be read very well.
