well if its unlocked you put ur finger under the lil latch and pull the handle. if its locked, put ur key in the hole.. unlock then proceed to do step 1
check your glovebox, there should be sticker with a 5 digits
if it is the same as a 89 the bcm is behind the glovebox the ecm is to the right right of it

I have an '89, and I've contemplated what would happen if I locked the keys in the trunk. In most cars, you can get in through the back seat, but guess where Mercedes put the fuel tank. Call Marshall Motors in Dallas, TX (I've lost their card) and ask for January to see if she knows how to resolve this.
It is not be fused. Mercedes barely uses fuses as is. Everything is relays. Cant have a burned fuse killing you.
I didn't know 83's had a lock. Open the trunk, and look behind the coverings toward the back of the fuel door. You can unlock it from there. My 84 300sd didn't have this feature, but both of my 89's do.
i ahbe an 560sel 89 and a 84 190e and they are iterchangeable so i think so

5W-40. it's an old engine which needs a heavier oil. Mercedes recommends MB 229.5 or MB229.51 approved synthetic motor oil, and this meets those specs.
