How do you open the backdoor of a 1994 Chevy astro van when the handle has broke inside and their is no handle on the inside?

The only way is to remove the inside door panel (not an easy job with the door closed). Once the panel is removed, you'll have access to the latch mechanism. You will be having to remove this panel to put a new door handle on anyway.

You have to take the inside handle apart to activate the latch manually. If you can't do it from the handle area you have to remove the inside door panel.
