How do you open the gate to get Altair's Armor in Assassin's Creed 2?

to get into the Auditore Crypt, you go to your Uplay account and you can add it there. it's also free. after this, you can go inside and you must work through another series of acrobatic puzzles. hope that helped :)

You cannot enter the Basilica San Marco (Doge's Palace) by any means except by Leonardo da vinci's glider. At least until you learn the new method of jumping to a higher ledge while climbing, but the first attempt will be by air. (a cool level, I might add. Fortunately, you get to fly it as many tiomes as you like in Forli once the "Special Memory" is unlocked.)

What you have to do is make your way to the Villa Auditore and then go to Uncle Mario's study. There will be six Assassin Seals and a gate in the sanctuary under the study. Go to Assassin Tombs and complete the missions and soon you will get the six seals. Go back to the Villa and push the six seals in their statues, the gate will unlock and you will get Altair's Armor.

PS. The Sword of Altair is available for a price of 45000 florin

PPS. You can get extra florin by searching the villa city for statues. These can be inserted into pedestals(four is the max)(You have to search for eight statues because there are 2 statues per pedestal) From these pedestals you get 2000 florin each. This equals 8000 florin. Great money boost. Or you may wait for the city tax to fill the Villa chest in the workshop, take the money out, then spend it on stuff.

Just find it, walk up to it and interact. (B on Xbox 360, square on PS3?) It should have a little blinking/glowing skull on it similar to the ones found on the other tombs and doorways.
