my 1998 mountaineer hood release will not work. Is there another way to open it?
Open the hood and look under the hood or on the radiator assembly. There you will find a placard with this info. It is also listed in your owner's manual. the gap for a 95 villager is .032
Pull the latch.
The starter is located directly underneath the brake fluid reservoir (which is located on the right front corner as you open the hood)...good luck
Follow the instructions on Youtube.
Turn the key to the right.
On a 1997 Mercury Villager open the drivers door and on the latch pillar you will see an information sticker that shows the original size tires on the vehicle from the factory

The button is right below the seat ontrols
If the sliding door on the 1999 Mercury Villager will not stay open, check for something that is not allowing the latching mechanism to lock into place. Make sure that the door is all the way back so that it can lock in.
Open the door with your key and pull the hood release.
Bank 1 is the left or front exhaust manifold. Open the hood and look straight down. It should be screwed into the manifold before it bends under the engine.
