Stay in the house, complain that you are bored, and ask them for money, oh yeah and eat all the chips.
Sorry I couldn't help my self, it was asking to be said. No really if you want your folks to let you get a job do some research before you ask. Check out the labour laws for your area and see if there are any age regulations. Some areas have age restrictions in place for your protection, yeah I know you want to get a job and make your own cash for stuff. But do the research and then once you know and have some written info about employment for youth then sit down with your folks and talk to them. Let them see you are serious about wanting to try out the working world. With the right approach you would be surprized what answers you might get. Just remember you are there kid and it's tough for parents to let go, so go easy on them.

∙ 8y agoWell, you should start off by just asking. Once you've asked you need to prove to them that you are a good and trustworthy babysitter. You can do this by: Keeping your room clean or helping out with chores in the house, starting off by just watching your little brother or sister on a regular basis, or also just being responsible towards them and getting along with them. You can start off by letting you parents let you babysit one of your younger relatives for like an hour but let your parents be around, but cant help you unless its a real emergency.
