TRING TO PLACE BELT BACK ON A 2000 FORD TURUAS CAN YOU HELP WITH ROUTING
there is a diagram under the hood and in your owners manual of the belt routing, you have to release the tension on the belt tensioner and the belt will come right off and to put a new belt on just follow the routing chart and release tension on the tensioner to get belt back in place and when belt is back on all pulleys just let go of the tensioner and your done.
Study the belt diagram and also the way the old belt was put on, use a socket (16mm usually) and a breaker bar to pull the tensioner pulley down, releasing tension on the belt causing it to be able to slip right off. Slide the old belt off and weave the new belt in to place while still holding the tensioner down. When it place put the tension back on the pulley by moving the breaker bar the opposite way you pulled it to release tension, causing the pulley back in to place and making the belt fit tightly. Start the vehicle and make sure it stays in place and functions properly.
usually u get a breaker bar or ratchet and put the right socket on it and pull to the left to loosen it will pop back in place and when u put belt back on just pull to left again
the best place is to remove the center seat belt in the back seat and bolt it to that...
how to put the serpertine belt back on how to put the serpertine belt back on
use tensioner to loosen belt. Using a socket, remove the old tensioner..put the new one on and if you were careful, you should be able to slip belt right back in place.
pull the tencion pully all the way back and then place it on.
There isn't one. The tension for the serpentine belt is an automatically spring loaded tensioner on top of the engine in the front. Place a 3/8 inch ratchet in the square slot of the tensioner arm and pull it back to releive tension on the belt. Then when you put the new belt on pull it back to get it on the pullies then release it to tension the belt.
In this case your car will give black smoke and it wont have much power to it and you have to get the timing belt taken off and set it up to its right place then put the belt back on it. Rememer your engine will be bit loud voice wise and if the belt was not installed properly.
