I don't have any experience in windows 8 yet, so I'm just winging it here.
It depends on which Halo:
Halo 1 (PC):
may work in compatibility if it doesn't in normal mode
Halo 2 for Vista: works normally, but temporarily and automatically disables dwm.exe (Aero)
For actual Xbox 360 games, I haven't been keeping up with development lately, but I did hear something about being able to read Xbox360 games. However, I would think the CD-ROM Drive would need to have the capabilities of reading the particular part of the CD which specifies the disc for Xbox360 usage. I might be wrong though.
You need to put in your copy of Halo 3:ODST campaign and go to play the BETA and download it.
Yes. Halo 2 runs on everything from Windows Vista and newer (which would include Windows 7).
No, halo 3 is exclusive to the xbox 360, or a windows PC
Yes. However, you must make sure that the version of Halo 2 you are trying to play is the PC edition rather than the XBOX version. It should read "Halo 2 for Vista" or something similar. Now this does NOT mean it is only compatible with Vista. Halo 2 is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7, but not Windows XP.
Sadly no, you can only play it on Xbox 360.
No, the trial is free. Also, you can install Halo For Windows without the trial
Halo 1: Xbox, Xbox 360, & PC Halo 2: Xbox 360, & Windows Vista Halo 3: Xbox 360
Yes i have not used vista for gaming but instead i use windows and halo runs just fine.
you can totally play it on windows 7 all you need is to run it in administrator mode.
Yes sadly you really do need Vista to be able to play Halo 2. There are a few cracks out there that sort of make it work on XP but so far there's been no real or legit way to fully play Halo 2 on XP. Sorry
You can not, unless you add Windows to a partition on your hard drive, so you can dual boot and play CE on Windows. Otherwise, it is impossible.
you mean, "when does he not play halo?"
