For sound you need a decoder on your computer. You can use stereo cables, or 3.5" male-to-male adaptor (which most likely create interference and will force you to use the VGA for video) or an s/pdif. I recomend going with the s/pdif although extra equipment purchawse might be needed. For video you can use the analog VGA wich will lower your picture quality and restrict your resolution or a DVI or HDMI if your computer AND HDTV have one. If you use the HDMI your might not have to worry about the sound. You'll probably have to configure your software.
