Get a crate for the puppy but get one with a moveable divider and keep it so they have enough room to be comfy laying down but not enough room that they can go in a corner and not have to sit in it but they won't be able to go for more than 4 hrs 5 max without bein let out reward them when they go outside with small chewy treats like bil jacs bites that's how I trained my puppy and she's 2 and hasn't had an accident in months.

An owner 'house' trains a dog. That is you teach the dog to urinate and defecate outdoors. It is a simple procedure of allowing the dog outside at regular intervals to 'do its business'. Praising it when it does so. This is positive training. Inevitably a puppy will have 'accidents' to begin with.
It is NOT advisable to hit the dog or rub its nose in it and force it outdoors. This is called negative training. It may work but it will take longer and can traumatise the dog.
Most dogs can be trained within a month.
