Most people are attacked because a shark mistakes them - seeing their silhouets, swimming on the surface - for a seal, which is a favourite shark snack. Not flapping your arms and legs about and being on the same depth as the shark will help - Scuba divers are rarely if ever spontaneously attacked. Moving away slowly and quietly (if you can keep your nerve) will probably get you out of harm's way. Hitting them on the nose if they come close is supposed to help too, but that of course takes a lot of cold-bloodedness. And remember that most sharks are not randomly aggressive: it takes a lot of buckets of blood and other bait (and patience) before you can get them to make the kind of open-mouthed attacks that you see in pictures.

The risk factors are high blood pressure, hypercholesterol, increase age, male positive family history and smoking. so as you can see, some of these are non modifiable, thus modify whatever you can while you still have time. Chill....

∙ 13y agoIf your in front of a cougar and he looks angry then don't make eye contact!!He will take you wanna challenge him.If you have gun(it better be a handgun)then draw your gun slowly and close one eye and aim him.When your done with aiming press the trigger and you win but run away because there may be more to his/her family.If your a mountain climber or a photographer or just a guy camping then don't make eye contact and if there is a car nearby or a log cabin then start backing up and when you reach the car or log cabin then turn around and run into the car/log cabin! Lock the door or car door and close your windows. The cougar will be attacking the car. Start the car and drive away. If your in a log cabin you probably will have guns inside. Get a rifle and open the window in the front of the house slowly and zoom in on him and kill him so that he won't bother you. If its your log cabin then stay inside but if its not then get on your ATV/car and head home.
