Best Answer

the best way to prime any diesel is to pre-fill the fuel filter, start at the lift pump, and crack every fitting loose till you reach the injector pump. pump the primer by hand until fuel reaches the first fitting, the close it. continue to do so until you reach the injection pump. DO NOT CRACK THE HARD LINES AT THE INJECTION PUMP. this may cause the rack to move and give you a dead cylander (especially Kubota engines). attempt to start the engine, only cranking for a few seconds at a time. be patient, and the engine will start. check for leaks, and your done

A 15 second crank time followed by a 15 second rest time allows the trapped air time to escape back through the return line restricted fitting. Typically 3 cycles of cranking for 15 seconds and waiting for 15 seconds will start any of the diesels.
